March 17, 2023There have been some changes made to the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DHOAS). DHOAS is a scheme administered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) designed to help eligible current and former ADF members achieve home ownership by providing a monthly subsidy paid directly to the member’s qualifying home loan.
In November 2022, legislation was passed making it easier for members to access the scheme. For full details of the changes please read the DVA’s DHOAS Legislation Changes Fact Sheet. Please note particularly that there are special provisions for members separating from Defence on medical grounds.
